LSU's Center for Computation and Technology & the Digital Media Arts & Engineering program were demonstrating what the state of Louisiana is doing in Virtual Reality. We joined Cox Communications "Smart Home" on Birdsong Drive in Baton Rouge. We took over a room and turned it into a room-scale VR space that is the envy of many gamers.

This show home had many different always-on connected technologies such as Alexa, a live streaming violinist and many new smart appliances. We had a chance to show off various games including "The Mage's Tale" that was developed locally in New Orleans and made specifically for the Oculus Rift.

Advanced gaming devices like the Oculus Rift are internet connected technologies helping reduce the distance between participants and making virtual environments more accessible. For more information check out the story on WAFB
