Most student projects demonstrate work that you expect from a person of a certain age and experience. Every once in a while you get work that transcends all expectations and moves to sensational, draw dropping, near-genius. This has only happened a few time in my 30 years both practicing and teaching video game development. This project fom Riley was truly exceptional and his first completed in Houdini. He had a strong creative idea and hook, composed and performed all the music himself and taught himself VEX to create a one person 3 minute render in Houdini on his first every complete project in the software. All the instruments were built procedurally and he dynamically animated it to match the beat of the music. I was blown away as he was making it and was flabbergasted at the final result. If you are looking for one of the best talents for a strong future games professional, look no further than Riley.
